Mechanical Integration Engineer Intern

Mechanical Integration Engineer (4-6 months internship)

An Engineer at Destinus is responsible for the Mechanical integration of different modules & Components of Air Turbo Rocket (ATR). Hence the engineer will be responsible for taking propulsion and structural piece parts and subassemblies and integrating them into fully functional whole engine modeling. The main responsibilities are to determine whether all ATR module and critical component & interfaces meet performance goals, standards, regulations, and requirements. The task will be present the Team lead and respective personal at Destinus.


  • Develop understanding of behaviors analysis of different modules and sub-module of Air Turbo Rockets w.r.t pressure, containments, temperature, thermal growth, thermal survey etc and analyzing ATR engine hardware;
  • Strong understanding of core engineering concepts such as material properties, structural loading, and analysis;
  • Defines, coordinates, and controls the functional and physical interfaces between the propulsion system;
  • Carry out Structural dynamic analysis including modal analysis, prediction of vibration response levels and characteristics, rotodynamic analysis, and stress analysis of major Air turbo Rocket modules and critical interfaces;
  • Perform state-of-the-art Siemens Simcenter 3D, Nastran finite element analysis for stress, vibration, mission low cycle fatigue life, residual life (fracture mechanics) predictions;
  • Ability to write clear documentation, as well as to create and provide impactful, persuasive presentations to Team Lead and Destinus SME;
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills;
  • Engineer needs to demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Basic qualifications:

  • Masters/PhD in Mechanical, Structural or Aerospace Engineering;
  • Hands on experience with Siemens Nx, Simcenter 3D, FEA, FEM, MatLab & expertise on MS Office software;
  • Fluent in English as working language.

Preferred skills & experience:

  • German and French languages are beneficial;
